Gigi Hadid: She is one of the biggest names in the modelling world thanks to contracts with Guess and Maybelline, among other brands. But Gigi Hadid was not born with that name. Turns out, Gigi Hadid was born as Jelena Noura Hadid, but got popular with the nickname Gigi, which her mother Yolanda Foster gave her as a young girl.

Miley Cyrus: With Billy Ray Cyrus for a father, it was only fitting that Miley’s original name sounded more like a stage name. She was born Destiny Hope Cyrus, but her nickname ’Smiley Miley’ was so popular that she legally changed her name to Miley Cyrus at 15.

Lana Del Ray: The ‘Born to Die’ singer has captivated millions of people with her stellar voice and gripping lyrics. And there’s something about her name that just goes perfectly with her image. But turns out the name was a chosen one. The singer’s real name is Elizabeth Grant. Personally, we like Lana so much better. Don’t you?

Tina Fey: If you, like us, sit up a little straighter with your ears perked out at even the mention of Tina Fey (because we are so in love with her!), listen up. You’’ like this one. Turns out the 30 Rock actress has a lot more Liz Lemon in her life than we thought, well, at least by name. Fey’s birth name is Elizabeth Stamatina Fey.

Vin Diesel: Not only did the actor stun us with his fabulous stunts, The Fast and the Furious star has carved out a niche for himself where his name is legendary. Turns out, his real name is very lovely too. He was born Mark Sinclair Vincent. Now though we love his birth name, we think Vin Diesel just does so much more justice to his personality.

Charlie Sheen: The notorious actor has previously been reported to go by the name Carlos Estevez, and though it did make sense for him to have an alternative identity at times, turns out that is the real one. Carlos Estevez is actually Charlie Sheen’s birth name.

Brad Pitt: The gorgeous actor has some of the simplest names in Hollywood, and it works so well for him. Well, it turns out even the simplest of names are coined stage names. Brad Pitt was actually born William Bradley Pitt.

Mallika Sherawat: The scandalous actress wasn’t always called Mallika Sherawat. The moniker was actually coined using her mother’s maiden fame; because of all the support she received from her mother. She was born as Reema Lamba in Rohtak, Haryana.

Ajay Devgn: Ajay Devgan hailed from a Punjabi family that was already into films, Born in Delhi, he was originally called Vishal Devgan. Over the years, Ajay changed his last name to Devgn in response to a request from his family. According to rumours though, he still uses his original name on his passport.
