10 more dead found in Mexican port of Veracruz

VERACRUZ, Mexico (AP) — Mexican officials say 10 more bodies have been found in what appears to be more bloodshed in the battle between rival cartels for control of drug trafficking in the port city of Veracruz.

The discoveries raise the number of deaths since Sept. 20 to at least 75 as the relatively new Jalisco New Generation gang claims to be attacking members of the Zetas cartel.

A statement Saturday from the Veracruz state prosecutor's office says seven dead were found piled in a pickup truck late Friday. Three more dead were found on roadsides in two other locations earlier in the day.

Police found 32 bodies left in three houses in Veracruz on Thursday. On Sept. 20, masked gunmen dumped the bodies of 35 slaying victims onto a busy avenue there.

The Mexican authorities need to declare these criminals as terrorists and then send in the army to take them all out.

These guys are better armed and a lot tougher than the Mexican army.

It would be a civil war. Pure and simple. The only reason the cartels haven't already taken over the government is because it's easier to operate as a non-government entity than it is to attempt run a government and a massive illegal drug network at the same time.

Yeah sure go off and just look for them. Like they wear uniforms or signs saying
"I'm a cartel member". Get real. They're fighting in a closed room against an invisible enemy. It's the same situation the US Army faced with insurgents in Iraq and Afghanistan. You don't know who they are. They wouldn't take over the government, but it would be widespread blood shed. Well, it is now, anyway. That's why they avoided confronting them all these years in an urban setting.

Sad!!! But if they won't too keep killing each other. Let them.
      • satanicmajesty1967 7 mths ago
not as sad as your bad grammar... won't is a contraction for will not. what i'm sure you meant was 'want' as in, a desire to do something.. 'too' is used for also.. 'to' is the word that is grammatically correct there, though you shouldn't end a sentence in a preposition. uh oh, you probably don't know what that is... i won't go further. i'd watch what you post if you can't s-p-e-l-l. sorry to be an internet hater, but.. well... your post really sucked and i don't want to fold the laundry.

They, they, they. You talk about other peoples as if they are one person all of the same mind. Make a distinction, will you, between the ones who traffic drugs and the many decent people who try to stop them and those that get caught in the crossfire. And don't forget who provides the cartels their money: American drug users.

John D, You are insulting all animals by comparing them to Mexicans. Even cockroaches have more dignity AND intelligence than most Mexicans. And rabbits don't bread as fast. Maybe Obama will invite some illegals to the White House to babysit his children.

The war on drugs just another political show for the American people to make them feel safe and beleive the gov't will take care of them. The only thing the war on drugs has done is increase the ammount of drugs comming into the Country and made a lot of plititions and law enforcement people very rich and it continues to make the rich everyday. The war on drugs finances CIA run operations and many more illegal corrupt gov't activities. I never wanted to beleive how stupid most Americans are but their lack of motivation to stop this at the polls proves it

    • Doug  •  7 mths ago
Hey AG. Holder just maybe your stupid idea just might be an brilliant one ,for they are killing each other down in Mexico pretty darn fast with all of your weapons you just gave too them .
    • Easy  •  7 mths ago
Holder and Obama are responsible for the escalating violence on the border. Hundreds of murders are on their hands through their gun running scheme Fast and Furious. What Obama and Holder are trying to do is create a gun control problem, so they can outlaw gun sales.

if this was Africa or the middle east we would be outraged, but when its our neighbor what do we do? from what I've seen nothing! racist comments and jokes are not the answer. do you really think they want to live in a war zone? in other countries their called refugees, here we call them illegals, what would you do if you lived in a place like that?
    • m  •  7 mths ago
Let's not forget it was Mexico's president that came to DC and criticized our country for violating civil rights of his citizens for being against illegal immigration. And let us NEVER forget those politicians, lead by our president, that gave him a standing ovation for that verbal attack. We should have demanded an apology to that idiot for taking care of the people he's too weak to, not a standing ovation!! Vote them all OUT!
    • jime  •  7 mths ago
Operation Fast And Furious at its best, the cartels couldn't get enough guns on there own Holder and the ATF had to sell them a couple thousand more.
    • abc  •  7 mths ago
criminals killing each other off where's the problem?
    • JOE  •  7 mths ago
As I said in a prior post, we should all send Mexican citizens $1 so they can take care of this...the Mexican Government continues to let the cartels fight it out amongst themselves, which tells me the Government doesn't give a F___. We should be reading about the Government arresting dozens of cartel associates not that another so many bodies have been found.
    • good grief  •  7 mths ago
No matter what all the pot heads say. Nothing good come from drugs. America will fall like Rome and the history books of the future will put Drugs as the number one reason.
