Barely three years old, John David, of Helena, AL, has captured hearts everywhere with a 48-second video.

The little boy, who has Down syndrome, is the son of Cameron and Hannah Marlin. The family, along with grandmother Pam Sapp, recently went to visit some other family members in Jacksonville when David started reciting the ABCs for the first time.

Not wanting to miss the special milestone, grandma Sapp filmed it on her phone, and posted it on Facebook. Her caption was simple: "Best ABCs I've ever heard." She's got that right. The tot recited every letter with so much joy, it's impossible not to smile.

And, as Sapp also mentioned in her post, David managed to get even cuter when he reached letter W. He became wide-eyed with a grin from ear-to-ear. After he repeated the letter, he got visibility excited and even clapped for himself. Aww!

It didn't take long for the web to fall head over heels in love with the cutie. In less than a week, the video already has over 12 million views, 330,000 likes and 300,000 shares.

His family was shocked by the reaction. "I am just so amazed at the wonderful feedback we have received from this video that we never expected to happen," his mom told local media. As for why the clip was such a hit, the mother explained:

He is a child with Down syndrome that some people might personify as being delayed or someone to feel sorry for. But yet (in the video) you're seeing him as a typical child with such joy. By the time he gets to the end with the W, you can tell he's thinking 'I've got this, I can do it.'

Besides making people happy, the video has already helped other kids with Down syndrome, as parents have been posting clips of their children saying the alphabet along with David.
