16 Meat-Tastic Ways to Celebrate Super Bowl 2015
16 Meat-Tastic Ways to Celebrate Super Bowl 2015
Let me be clear: I am not a huge football fan. I comment exclusively on the players' costumes, and the ones in gold helmets are my favorites. I’m outing myself as a sports philistine and I’m unashamed. It’s just not my thing, and I don’t have to try to be one of the guys. Instead, I drink all of the beers, and eat all of the food, and savor the commercials and the deranged halftime performances. I aim to stuff my friends to their brim, keeping them fat and happy on the couch while I stay close to the cold ones in the kitchen. If these 16 meat-centric recipes aren't enough, just check out our Super Bowl headquarters to find more Super Bowl recipes.

These are the perfect noshes for a get-together where everyone is meandering around the house or arriving late. They're self-serve and customizable, like a salad bar made of heart attacks. Is there a Bison team? If not, sub whatever animal mascot represents the team you oppose.

Prep pre-game with Prilosec OTC, and then chow down on these little nubs of heaven. Anson Mills grits and a craft beer will make these corn dogs sound fancy if you have those kinds of friends.

3. Spicy Chicken and Chile Taco Dip
It’s a fact that this is a superior nacho recipe because chicken better adheres to your chip and remains strapped onto your nacho by its cheese blanket compared to ground beef, which always crumbles out and dribbles into your lap. Do the right thing. Save your pants.

Wings are a sportsy-thing staple. As is any meat on a stick, and in this case, the stick JUST GROWS IN THE MEAT! What could be more perfect? Oh I don’t know, the spicy-sweet tang of this fantastic glaze? Nah, nothing is more perfect than naturally occurring meat-on-a-stick.

If the previously mentioned chicken nachos seemed too light, give rich and hearty pulled pork a starring role, as it similarly adheres well to chips.

6. Patty Melts
Thinly sliced beef with oozing cheese on buttered toast is incredibly delicious, but this is a recipe for a small gathering. Make these sandwiches for only your favorite people, as no one wants a lukewarm melt that’s been hanging out. This is how I say "I love you."

7. Chicken-Fried Chicken Sandwich with Pickled Peppers
Make these into sliders to give you more opportunities to say “chicken-fried chicken” out loud. Perfect at room temperature, and when well fried the sandwiches will hang out nicely for a while for your guests.

This recipe has one main ingredient. MEAT. That’s it, and it is perfect. Another fine specimen of naturally occurring meat-on-a-stick.

Remember those pulled pork nachos from before? Yeah, when you run out of slider buns here, just toss the rest of this tender, juicy pork on some chips and you’ve got nachos!

This is actually my personal downfall. Like, I strongly consider just hunkering down in a closet with this and a bag of scoops, away from judging eyes as a I skillfully devour 30 or so servings of this meat-crack before halftime. Or you could share. Your call. Pro-tip: Self-loathing sets in pretty quickly after you lick the bowl clean.
