2 displaced after RV fire in Fresno, firefighters say

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Two people were displaced following an RV fire Saturday evening, according to the Fresno Fire Department.

Firefighters say around 5:30 p.m. they responded to a home on Keats Avenue near Shaw Avenue and Fresno Street for a call regarding an RV fire that was threatening a structure.

Upon arrival, fire crews reported that an RV was on fire between two homes as Fresno police officers were evacuating them.

Crews began battling the RV fire while stretching lines to the exposed residence, but as they were doing so, the fire spread into the attic space. Fresno Fire says they made entry into the home to tackle the fire from the inside.

Firefighters say the fire was contained to just the RV and a part of the residence it was parked on. No injuries were reported and the estimated loss to the residence is about $50,000.

Crews say the utilities had to be cut and as a result, displaced two people.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
