2 Your Health: Local World Aids Day events The Theme for World Aids Day 2012 is "Break the silence, end the stigma." To care for a person with HIV/Aids in an outpatient setting costs 28-thousand dollars annually in South Carolina. If a patient is hospitalized, that cost of care triples. Lowcountry Aids Services is sponsoring free hiv testing at Trident Technical College Rivers Avenue campus from 9am - 3pm Friday. Roper St. Francis Healthcare will recognize World Aids Day with special events Friday from 10am - 3pm Food trucks will serve food at Roper Hospital, Charleston, St. Francis Hospital West Ashley and Roper St. Francis Mount Pleasant. On Friday you can also participate in the Lowcountry's recognition of World Aids Day beginning at 5pm Friday at Marion Square in downtown Charleston.
