A vehicle fire is snarling traffic on Interstate 24 westbound near the Sam Ridley Parkway exit in Smyrna, officials said.

The wreck was first reported just after 2 p.m. Monday, according to the Tennessee Department of Transportation. Westbound lanes were initially set down as crews responded to the scene, and later partially reopened. It was not immediately clear if anyone was hurt or when the interstate would fully reopen.
