$3.5M in coke seized near Puerto Rico; 3 charged

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP) — Three men in Puerto Rico have been charged with conspiring to import 136 kilograms (300 pounds) of cocaine worth an estimated $3.5 million.

U.S. Attorney Rosa Emilia Rodriguez says authorities seized the drugs about 60 miles (97 kilometers) off the coast of the northwest town of Aguadilla.

She said Thursday that the men were aboard a 20-foot (six-meter) boat that was sinking when the U.S. Coast Guard spotted it.
