3 injured after shooting reported in North Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Three people were shot after dozens of rounds were reportedly fired along Buchanan Street Sunday night.

The Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) said the shooting was called in shortly after 7:45 p.m. on Sunday, May 5 from the 1000 block of Buchanan Street. The shooting appears to have started as some people were leaving the Minerva Avenue Bar.

The MNPD said at least 30 rounds were fired, adding that officers found three vehicles with bullet holes in them. Several people are believed to have fired shots, including at least one of the three individuals who were wounded.

Officials told News 2 the three people shot sustained non-critical injuries and were taken to hospitals via private vehicle; two men, ages 27 and 24, went to Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC), while a 28-year-old man went to TriStar Centennial Medical Center.

Police said the 27-year-old man who went to VUMC was one of the shooters.

No additional details have been released about the shooting and the investigation remains ongoing.
