Don't blame the stores. They only open because idiots keep showing up at 2 am.
      • Georgia 5 mths ago
So if they are willing to show up at 2 a.m. then they will be willing to show up at 9 a.m. also. How is this not the companies fault then?
      • Jarred 5 mths ago
Well let's just shut down all the evil businesses then. What do you propose? Standing in line for a government agency to issue supplies? This is still a consumer driven demand economy and stores will be open whenever they think they can make a profit. That's the point of owning a business.
      • AC 5 mths ago
In Texas, up until about 1980 , we had "Blue " laws . Certain things couldn't be bought on Sunday . Certain businesses didn't open . I know , how quaint & backward we were . But you just went to the stores when you could . I don't know of anyone who starved because the grocery store closed at 9pm . It seems these stores nowadays are scared to death that they won't be able to suck the last dollar out of your pocket in the next 5 minutes !

Walmart was open ALL DAY from 8:am today til tomorrow night. Money hungry company. Guess their employees didn't deserve a Thanksgiving holiday.
      • brett b 5 mths ago
        So true...
      • blah 5 mths ago
or maybe some employees wanted to work to make extra money, after all holidays usually pay time-and-a-half
      • Megan 5 mths ago
maybe the employees should find another job if they dont want to work retail.
    • harry  •  Tacoma, United States  •  5 mths ago
If everyone boycotted black friday we all could get better prices next week. retailers would go w.t.h. and have to lower all prices to get us in their stores. but you know those shopaholics will spoil it for all of us.
    • wally  •  White Haven, United States  •  5 mths ago
If the American people were smart enough to stay home imagine the huge panic sales they would have next week. I have never in 47 years shopped on a black friday.
    • Michie  •  5 mths ago
I'm old . . . I remember when holidays were spent with friends and family and all the stores were CLOSED. They were also closed on Sundays so employees could have at least one day with their families. We survived . . . we remembered to buy what we needed the day before. I also remember when Thanksgiving and Christmas were two separate holidays . . . not one giant shopping spree from mid-November on. I really miss those days . . .
    • RichardO  •  Providence, United States  •  5 mths ago
This is really getting out of hand - why not just stay oper 24/7 for November and December.
    • Chris  •  5 mths ago
Do your country a HUGE favor and only shop at locally owned buisnesses this year.
    • WeThePeople  •  5 mths ago
Opening at midnight is not a customer service issue; your customers will not be upset and boycott you if you don't do it. It's an excuse for big retailers who are already successful, to choose money over an American tradition and their employees as well.
    • LindseyL  •  6 mths ago
Stop participating in the commercialization of holidays!!!!!

I just drove past Best Buy and the front of the store is literally a tent city. How sad.. people wait 2 - 3 days to get a $100 discount on a TV.
    • Daniel W  •  5 mths ago
There's a reason I don't go out today... Why? Because if someone pushes me to get a sale item, I am punching them in the face.
