5 of the Most Romantic Restaurants in the Philadelphia Area

With Valentine's Day coming up, sweethearts across the Philadelphia area are making plans for the most romantic day of the year. From sending flowers to securing dinner reservations, many citizens are in a rush to make sure everything is ready for February 14. Fortunately, the City of Brotherly Love is chock-full of many romantic dining venues. Here's a look at five of the most romantic restaurants in the Philadelphia area just in time for Valentine's Day.

    William Penn Inn

The William Penn Inn is by far one of the most romantic venues for couples celebrating Valentine's Day in the Philadelphia area. Located at 1017 Dekalb Pike in Gwynedd, Pennsylvania, the William Penn Inn features a magnificent menu, extraordinarily warm ambience, beautiful interior and exterior decor, and more. An excellent choice for couples on Valentine's Day or for any special occasion.

    Amada

Another great option in Philadelphia is Amada. Located at 217-219 Chestnut St. in Old City, Amada specializes in authentic Spanish tapas, with varieties including Spanish octopus, tortilla Espanola, and garlic shrimp, all masterfully prepared by chef Jose Garces. Amada also offers a warm and inviting atmosphere, tasteful interior design, and an expansive wine list, including many Spanish wines, as well as vino from Portugal, California, Italy, and more.

    Rouge

From the moment citizens first see Rouge from the green expanse of Rittenhouse Square, many note how the venue looks like a Parisian cafe, with tables and chairs set on the sidewalk so diners can eat in the open air during warmer seasons. In the colder months, diners can enjoy the wonderful decor and impeccable service inside. Some of the dinner menu options include their king salmon, pork chop Milanese, and pan-seared duck breast, just to name a few. Rouge is located at 205 S. 18th St. in Philadelphia.

XIX Nineteen -- Hyatt at The Bellevue

Another exquisite option for Valentine's Day is XIX Nineteen. XIX Nineteen is located on the 19th floor of the Hyatt at The Bellevue, Broad and Walnut streets, in Center City Philadelphia, and features beautiful French Renaissance interior design with touches of contemporary sophistication, including a 36-foot dome rotunda, Venetian wall design, and a 19-foot chandelier adorned with pearls. In addition to choice interior design, XIX Nineteen offers decadent cuisine options, such as grilled New Zealand lamb rack, Scottish Loch Duart salmon, and Peking duck confit, as just a few examples.

    Lacroix at the Rittenhouse

Lacroix at the Rittenhouse is another excellent option for Valentine's Day dining. Located at 210 W. Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia, Lacroix at the Rittenhouse offers fine dining, exquisite interior design, French cuisine, and more. Some of the menu options include Irish ocean trout, lobster, veal cheek, guinea hen, and dry-aged strip steak. Lacroix was named the Best New Restaurant in the United States in 2003 by Esquire magazine.
