    5 Things to Pack for Cheap Flights to Turkey

    With flights to Turkey currently on sale, flight crew at Jet2.com have shared their top tips for packing this summer

    When it comes to packing most holidaymakers are guilty of a number of errors, whether cramming too much in, not folding properly or pure and simply forgetting things.

    There is also the risk of not packing the right stuff for the destination. Whilst it is important to pack all the basics, what else is needed for a stay in Turkey, one of the most popular holiday destinations of the year so far?

    Avoid Unnecessary Spillages

    Temperatures in Turkey during the summer soar, so the most important thing holidaymakers should pack (after the passport) is the right factor of sun cream. However, when packing, ensure that all liquids over 100mg are in a suitcase. The Jet2.com flight crew offered a useful tip to stop any unfortunate liquids spilling and ruining clothes – put any liquids in a beach bag.

    Dress to Impress

    Turkey’s Turquoise Coast is blessed with many excellent resorts, many of which bestow a certain level of luxury on its visitors. Bodrum, Marmaris and Olu Deniz all have their luxury restaurants and bars, so looking good is important.

    For that reason, make sure any best dresses, tops and trousers are packed. However, to avoid those unwanted creases, the Jet2.com crew recommend using sheets of tissue paper between layers of clothes.

    Leave the Heels Behind

    Comfort is key in such glorious weather so, as the Jet2.com crew recommend, leave the heels behind. Footwear is important in Turkey because, due to the wealth of things to do and see, holidaymakers might find themselves on their feet more than they thought.

    Light, cloth shoes and sandals are usually the footwear of choice and as an added bonus, they don’t take up much space in your suitcase.

    Don’t Get Lost in Translation

    The phrasebook, can have added importance for a holiday in Turkey because of the markets. Visiting the bazaars is a great traditional Turkish experience and bartering over prices is a fun pastime. However, don’t rely on the locals to use English all of the time.

    This is why holidaymakers should familiarise themselves with a few key phrases so that they aren’t caught out.

    Leave Some Space

    Finally, it is not so much what to pack but to remember to leave some space in the suitcase. Turkey is rich in interesting souvenirs, gifts and trinkets, plus the rate of exchange is usually favourable giving holidaymakers a chance to secure some bargains.
