As an adult, you may not have the time to play all your favorite classic Nintendo games these days, but at least you can put them on your wall.

DC-based graphic designer Matt Stevenson has created subway maps inspired by the Nintendo video games he played religiously as a child. After stumbling across the original game map composites on NESmaps.com, he decided they'd look great in the form of well known metro systems around the world.

"I loved recalling the twists and turns of the games and wanted to recreate the adventure," he told Mashable via email.

So far, he's recreated Metroid as the DC Metro, The Legend of Zelda as the London Underground, Maniac Mansion as the Moscow Transit System, Dragon Warrior as the Lisbon Subway, Zelda II as the Tokyo Transit System and Final Fantasy as the New York Subway. All are for sale as prints on Red Bubble.

"The kids labeled nerds in the 1980s for loving comics, sci-fi, D&D, video games, etc. are now older, some with kids of their own," he said. "I'm designing pieces that reminds us all of the things we love, but are also minimalist/abstract enough to exist in our adult homes."

Stevenson isn't sure which games he'll draw up next, but said he's open to continuing the series into Super Nintendo Entertainment System and Playstation. Check out some of his NES game maps below.
