7 awesome HBO Go ads you really have to watch right now

Here’s how much HBO may charge for its streaming-only service

HBO is looking to convince even more people to watch its TV shows by promoting HBO Go as a solid way to avoid all those awkward moments that may pop up while watching TV with the whole family.

The company released seven short ads centered around various popular HBO shows including Game of Thrones, True Detective, True Blood, Girls and Curb Your Enthusiasm, highlighting certain scenes that may spark unusual family conversation. The fix, in all those cases, is HBO Go, which would let users watch any HBO programs on other devices instead of the TV, thus leaving them undisturbed by potentially annoying conversations.

What the ads don’t really say is that users will need an active HBO subscription in order to actually be able to use HBO Go on smartphones and tablets.

Even though the new HBO Go ads hit YouTube on Monday, they’re quickly turning into viral videos. Most of them have already passed 100,000 views, with one of them quickly approaching 500,000 hits.

All seven HBO Go ads follow below.
