Namrata is an Indian-American actress, who has worked in a number of sitcoms including Americanizing Shelley, The Agency and Passions. She also acted in the Bollywood film, Kaante. In 2008, she was diagnosed with early stages of breast cancer. However, she did not take this battle lying down. She even directed a docu-drama, 1 a Minute, about women affected by breast cancer. It was screened in 600 theatres and is widely believed to be the largest release for a cancer-related movie.

#4. Kylie Minogue


Australian singer and television actress, Kylie Minogue was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005. She underwent a surgery followed by chemotherapy and recovered successfully. Since then, Kylie has been working actively for spreading breast cancer awareness all over the world. She has also been awarded an honorary Doctorate of Health Sciences, in recognition of her work. 


#5. Cynthia Nixon


Sex and the City’s gorgeous actress, Cynthia Nixon, was diagnosed with breast cancer during a routine mammogram in 2006. Her mother was a breast cancer survivor as well. Cynthia battled this disease and underwent nearly 7 weeks of radiation. She also underwent a lumpectomy. After recovering, she became the ambassador for Susan.G. Mexican beauty, who created quite a stir in Bollywood with her debut movie, Kites and a rumoured affair with co-actor, Hrithik Roshan, is a cancer survivor as well. Barbara was detected with cancer when she was 29 years old. Though many do not know the nature of her disease; many have speculated it to be breast cancer. This overseas beauty has openly expressed her support for various breast cancer causes.

Srividya was a leading actress of the Tamil and Malayalam film industry, who had acted in over 200 films. She was diagnosed with cancer in 2003, and underwent intensive treatment till she lost her battle in 2006. Despite her cancer, she continued to act in films and fought till her last breath.
