8 Ways Peter MacNicol's Character Should Leave CSI: Cyber

Sad news from the dark web. Peter MacNicol is leaving CSI: Cyber and won't be back for Season 2, TV Line reports. MacNicol play(ed)s FBI Assistant Deputy Director Simon Sifter on the CBS procedural, and presumably his post will be filled by the recent announcement that Ted Danson will shift over from the ending CSI to join CSI: Cyber. Details of MacNicol's departure haven't been revealed yet.

1. While booting up his computer to start searching for identity thieves, he inadvertently opens Minesweeper and becomes addicted to it for 58 years, never leaving his house again.

2. Patricia Arquette's character Avery Ryan goes through his Internet search history, and an embarrassed and disgraced Sifter is forced to move to Antarctica, where no one knows he Googled "What does a normal looking penis look like?"

3. Kidnapped by Nigerian princes.

4. Took a BuzzFeed "Which CSI: Cyber character are you?" quiz and the result was Elijah Mundo, so he said, "f--k it" and quit.

5. Decided to be a Web cam girl instead because it paid better.

6. His shameful secret was finally exposed: he doesn't know how to type!

7. His death becomes the big story in Season 2 after he was killed while buying the Season 5 DVD set of Entourage off Craigslist.

8. Found the dark web, never came back.
