Phoenix will mark the 10-year anniversary of the 9/11 attacks with events. Below are a few.
This event is the kickoff to the Patriot Day event. An anticipated 500-plus riders will be taking the ride to honor those who lost their lives during 9/11 and to bring awareness to always remember those that protect the United States of America. Joining this ceremonious ride will be Mike Broomhead, KFYI, and the Patriot Guard Riders to name a few.
Starts: Sanderson Ford , "Starliner Diner," 5111 W. Maryland Avenue, Glendale, to Paseo Highlands Park , 3435 W. Pinnacle Peak Phoenix
When: Saturday, Sept. 10. Registration, 8 a.m., Kick Stands Up 11 a.m., arrive at park 2:30 p.m.
Cost: $9.11, includes admission into the Patriot Celebration and Joe Nichols Concert

There will be a number of public figures speaking and attending this event. Some include Gov. Jan Brewer, Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon, Vice-Mayor Thelda Williams, and Lt. General John Bradley of the retired Joint Chiefs of Staff.

When: Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. Gates open at 2 p.m.
Cost: $9.11 (plus surcharge) for advance online ticket purchase. $10 day of the event admission, kids under 10 are free as well as active duty military personnel with government ID or in uniform.
* Tie a Yellow Ribbon Reception and Benefit Concert
Tony Orlando, a popular 1970's singer, will be headlining this concert for the 10th anniversary of 9/11. Other performers are Phil Vandel and Corrine Chapman. The dress is casual and a highlight of the event is that there will be a portrait presentation to Mike Broomhead's family in memory of his brother, Tom, who was killed in action in Iraq. It will be presented by Phil Taylor.

* Never Forget 9/11 Memorial Walk
Partakers in this event will meet at Chase Bank Tower and walk to CityScape. They will be guided by the Phoenix Fire Department band, an honor guard and color guard. Once at Cityscape contributors may join Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon, the Phoenix Fire and Police departments, along with City Council members.

When: Sunday, Sept. 11, at 7 a.m., Participants Assembly, 7:30 a.m. Begin Memorial Walk and at 8 a.m. Arrive at CityScape to begin ceremony.
