9/11 Lessons: Love Everyone, Don’t Judge

Yahoo Contributor Network

Yahoo! is asking Americans how September 11 changed them. Below is an account from a reader.

I will never forget September 11, 2001. I remember that day like it was yesterday. I was working close to the airport, and I just got to work around 7:30 in the morning. We had the radio on at work and it came on the radio that the World Trade Center had been hit. It got quiet; we all could not believe we were under attack. It broke my heart for the people trapped. 9/11 changed me. Don't take life for granted; you might not be here tomorrow. Love everyone, don't judge. I tell my family I love them more and I don't take life for granted.

[Your story: How has September 11 changed you?]

9/11 changed me to be a better person and to love everyone. I help a lot of people if I can. I still watch the memorial every year and it brings tears to my eyes. Over 3,000 people lost their life that day and I want to say to the families that I'm deeply sorry for their loss. They became my family that day and forever. My prayers go out to the families of 9/11.
