Moscow, Russia
Season 9, Leg 3 “I’m in Russia Playing With Dolls”
When the pairs arrived at the the Detour, they were given the choice between “Scrub” or “Scour.” In “Scrub,” teams had travel to a trolley depot to thoroughly wash a Russian public trolley bus inside and out. After the bus was cleaned, a bus driver would give their next clue. In “Scour,” the teams had travel to the famous Dubrovka Theatre to search among 1,500 pieces of Russian nesting dolls to find one of 10 microscopic clues hidden inside. These 10 clues instructed teams to head to St. Basil's Cathedral in famous Red Square.

Seychelles
Season 16, leg 7 “Anonymous?”
Upon arriving in Seychelles, the teams were about to choose: “Turtle Toddle” or “Ox Trot.” In “Turtle Toddle,” teams had to use a banana to lure a 500-pound, 100-year-old Aldabra Giant Tortoise across a marked path on a lawn. Once it was across the finish line, teams had to deliver a bunch of bananas to a fruit merchant more than a mile away to receive their next clue. In “Ox Trot,” teams had to pull a cart to a clearing and load a pile of coconuts into it. Then, after an ox was hitched to their cart, teams had to deliver their coconuts to a fruit merchant.

Svolvaer, Norway
Season 23, Leg 4 “Beards in the Wind”
The teams travelled to this famous northern fishing village to find a Detour, with the choices being “Hang Your Heads” or “Hammer of the Cods.” In “Hang Your Heads,” teams had first to string fish heads in six bundles of ten fish heads each. They then had to take them by wheelbarrow to a fish drying rack and place them on a marked rod. Once finished, the fish foreman would give their next clue. In “Hammer of the Cods,” the teams had to collect 15 pairs of cod from a 30-foot-high fish drying rack, and transport them to a manufacturing area to smash the cod into fish jerky. They also had to make sure to remove the bones. Once they made a full kilogram of fish jerky, they would receive their next clue.

Shanghai, China
Season 21, Leg 1 “Double Your Money”
Season 21 opened up with a Roadblock in Shanghai called "Who's ready to get paddled?". One team member had to score only one point in a game of table tennis against a 10-year-old Chinese national junior table tennis champion to receive their next clue. To add insult to injury, for each attempt after their first, the table tennis champion would play with an ordinary household object such as a clipboard, frying pan, or tambourine instead of a paddle.

Dubrovnik, Croatia
Season 12, Leg 6 “This is Forever, Now”
At the start of the leg, teams headed to Dubrovnik, the coastal city in Croatia in the Adriatic coast. Upon arrival, they hit the famous Fort of St. Lawrence, where they encountered the Roadblock, asking "Who has a builder's eye?". One team member had to find one of eight stones correctly identified out of 150 stones and fit it into the rock wall at the fort being rebuilt after the Croatian War of Independence.

Paris, France
Season 1, Leg 2
The series' first aired Roadblock, the only clue given to the teams was, "This task requires strong legs and keen eyes." One team member had to take the stairway up to the second level of the Eiffel Tower and use a coin to operate a telescope while the other team member had to search the skyline using the telescope to spot for the leg's Pit Stop, Arc de Triomphe, with a marked Race flag.

Cuzco, Peru
Season 7, Leg 1 “Courteous? This is a Race!”
The first Detour in Cusco posed: “Rope a Llama” or “Rope a Basket.” In “Rope a Llama,” teams had to lead llamas to a pen; once they had two llamas in their pen, the herder would give them their next clue. In “Rope a Basket,” teams had to put on hats and capes, then tie and carry a basket of alfalfa weighing 35 pounds to a store called Tienda Victoria Valdivia. Once there, teams would receive their next clue.

Bavaria, Germany
Season 20, Leg 5 “Uglier than a Mud Rail Fence”
The teams were given a Detour in Bavaria, Germany: a choice between “Fairy Tale” and “Champion Male.” In “Fairy Tale,” teams followed a trail of gingerbread, picking up pieces along the way, leading them to a witch's house. Once there, they used the pieces they picked up to make the roof to a gingerbread house to gain their clue. In “Champion Male,” teams had to travel to the Wetz-Stoa Stub'n restaurant and choose a beard enthusiast. They styled his beard to match a champion from the World Beard and Moustache Championships. Once complete, the judge would give them their next clue. Both of the teams received a clue to "find the inspiration for Sleeping Beauty '​s castle." The clue referred to Neuschwanstein Castle, famous for being the inspiration for one of the most popular Disney films.

Istanbul, Turkey
Season 7, Leg 9 “We Have a Bad Elephant”
After the teams took a ferry from Istanbul to Galata Kulesi, the teams had a Detour: “Columns” or “Kilos.” For “Kilos,” teams traveled to the Yeni Mosque, located at the old Jewish quarter of Eminönü. Teams must find a man with a box of scales and choose one. Teams then had to weigh enough people on the street until they reached a total of 5,500 pounds. Once they reached that benchmark, the team would receive their next clue.
