A new Trek era: Bryan Fuller is the new showrunner of new Star Trek series

I grew up with Star Trek, Voyager, DS9 and the TNG Films in particular and I enjoy the newer Films, so the prospect of a new Star Trek series fills me with excitement. As much as I like the JJ Abrams Star Trek I really need the new series to better resemble the proper universe, and not adhere to the new timeline.

I’d rather live in that universe than this new one.

The showrunner has been announced for the new series and its cult show creator Bryan Fuller who will be taking the reigns. He’s the man behind fan favourites Pushing Daisies and Hannibal, two quirky and ingenious shows that have proven him to be a clever and dedicated creator.

His vision of Star Trek is sure to be refreshing and brilliant, and I’m hoping this is the first in a series of announcements that will bring back Star Trek into the modern era with glory.
