AcdSee 18 review
AcdSee 18 is a photo management application with a comprehensive set of tools. It provides organizational, viewing, and editing tools, as well as good functionality for uploading and sharing your albums. If you're interested in streamlining your workflow with photos, AcdSee 18 could provide you with a solution.
Pros
Good for beginners: Many of the professional-level solutions for photo management are difficult to figure out at first. AcdSee 18 is quite manageable, however. The four tabs across the top of the screen make it easy to switch between the Manage, View, Edit, and 365 program modes.
IPTC and EXIF editors: From the Manage pane, you can access and edit IPTC and EXIF data for your photos with ease. This is a great way to make last-minute edits before uploading photos to a permanent collection.
Editing tools: AcdSee 18 performs most of the editing functions you're likely to need. Tools like red-eye reduction and a repair tool allow you to make quick and easy alterations to a picture before publishing it.
Cons
Poor installation experience: AcdSee's standard installation auto-launches a random website upon completion. It also installed a desktop icon without asking for permission.
Bottom Line
If you don't already have a photo solution, AcdSee 18 provides you with most of what you need within a single product. Unless you need very specific tools that are only available in other programs, you should be able to completely control and manage your photo collections from within this single program.
