Adam Sher Joins Leftfield Entertainment as Chief Creative Officer

Former Ryan Seacrest Prods. CEO Adam Sher has joined ITV Studios’ Leftfield Entertainment as chief creative officer.

Sher will oversee creative matters across Leftfield’s four production imprints: Leftfield Pictures, Sirens Media, Loud TV and Outpost Entertainment. He will also focus on talent recruiting and the development of strategic partnerships. Sher is tasked with expanding Leftfield’s presence in Los Angeles, where he will be based.

“As we expand our reach into new arenas of programming and distribution, it becomes more and more vital to partner with seasoned players with strong opinions, a courageous approach to creative and the ability to execute across multiple areas of expertise – the recipe for the kind of breakthrough ideas we believe can define a genre, create a franchise or even spawn a movement,” said Leftfield CEO Brent Montgomery. “In Adam Sher, we’re fortunate to have found the combination of all of these qualities, including a rich background and point of view that is a great complement to the Leftfield vision.”

Sher exited as CEO of Seacrest’s banner in late 2013 after a five-year run that saw the company grow substantially as a producer of unscripted series and through a $300 million investment from private equity giants Thomas H. Lee Partners and Bain Capital. Sher previously spent 16 years as an agent with the William Morris Agency, where he was part of the team that repped Seacrest.

“It’s a near-Herculean feat to have created a company like Leftfield Entertainment from the ground up,” Sher said. “I’m excited for the big swings we will take as we push further into new areas, including scripted programming and broadcast, and expand our ability to service the industry from Los Angeles.”

Leftfield is known for producing History’s “Pawn Stars,” Bravo’s “Real Housewives of New Jersey” and a slew of other cable unscripted series. The New York-based outfit was acquired by ITV Studios last May for an eye-popping $360 million.
