Admire New York's Tallest Building: 1 WTC
A decade and six months after the Twin Towers fell in the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, the World Trade Center site is once again home to New York's tallest building.

The so-called Freedom Tower, still under construction at 1 World Trade Center, has officially surpassed the Empire State Building in height just after 2 p.m. Monday, though it's still not due to open until late 2013. Workers are installing the beam that pushes the structure past the Empire State Building's 1,250 feet right now. By the time it's finished, the Freedom Tower is designed to stand 1,776 feet tall, including its mast. That will make it the city's tallest building, and the tallest in the Western Hemisphere. Naturally, Monday's milestone resulted in a flood of Twitter pictures. Our favorites from four different angles, below.
