AES names former PPL CEO as board member

ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) -- Power company AES has named the former chairman and CEO of utility PPL Corp., James Miller, as a board member.

The appointment was effective Thursday.

Miller worked at PPL from 2006 until his retirement in March 2012. Miller also serves as a director for timber company Rayonier Inc., fuel seller Lehigh Gas Partners LP and packaging maker Crown Holdings Inc.

Shares of the Arlington, Va.-based AES Corp. rose 10 cents to $11.53 in Friday morning trading.
