Agent: No United-Xavi talks

Xavi eyes coaching role

There is no truth in claims Manchester United have begun negotiations with Spain international Xavi Hernandez, according to the Barcelona star's agent. The former World Cup winner has been strongly linked with a move away from the Nou Camp in recent months, with the arrivals of new coach Luis Enrique and playmaker Ivan Rakitic leaving Xavi's inclusion in doubt. And, the 34-year-old's representative, Ivan Corretja, was recently spotted in Manchester, leading to various claims he was meeting with the Red Devils. However, Corretja has since moved to rubbish any such talks, while also stating his client is more than content with life at the Catalan giants. "Xavi is very happy with Barca and the coaching staff is happy with him. He's not planning on leaving," he told Mundo Deportivo. "It is true I was in Manchester but not to talk about Xavi." Barca will be looking to add to their two-point lead at the top of the La Liga standings when they host Eibar at the Nou Camp on Saturday evening.
