Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Promotes Adrianne Palicki to Series Regular

Proving once again that dreams do come true if you obsess over them enough, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has quietly promoted Adrianne Palicki to series regular. The news was buried in a press release for the show's spring premiere, which is titled "Aftershocks" and scheduled to air on Tuesday, March 3.

Palicki, who's best known for playing Tyra Collette on Friday Night Lights, joined Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in a recurring capacity early in Season 2. She plays Agent Bobbi Morse (in various Marvel comics, the character is also known as Mockingbird), and has been a highlight of the show's solid second season.

According to ABC, S.H.I.E.L.D.'s return from hiatus will see Coulson's team dealing with the fallout from their war with Hydra as "shocking revelations threaten to tear them apart and Hydra makes a dangerous move that may involve a traitor in S.H.I.E.L.D.'s midst."

Um, vague much? Thankfully, they network did provide just a bit more detail, including the fact that Skye's father Cal will be seeking retribution against Coulson for stealing his chance to exact revenge against Whitehall. Also, Ward and Agent 33 will have formed an alliance, and Raina will struggle with her transformation into an Inhuman. And just to make matters worse, Skye has zero control over her own new powers, which puts the safety of the entire team in jeopardy.

Meanwhile, Bobbi will join Mack to begin the next phase of a mysterious plan. Perhaps we'll finally learn the secret Bobbi's been hiding from Hunter? And speaking of everyone's favorite smartass, he'll be forced to make the biggest choice of his life. Hopefully that just means he's deciding between tequila and whiskey (whiskey, always whiskey).

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns Tuesday, March 3 at 9pm on ABC. Are you excited about Palicki's promotion?
