    AHA’s Small or Rural Hospitals Governing Council Names Two QHR Client Hospital CEOs as Chair-Elect and New Member

    The American Hospital Association’s (AHA) Section for Small or Rural Hospitals recently named Alvin Hoover, CEO of King’s Daughters Medical Center in Brookhaven, Mississippi as this year’s chair-elect and Peter Hofstetter, CEO of Holy Cross Hospital in Taos, New Mexico as a new member.

    The American Hospital Association’s (AHA) Section for Small or Rural Hospitals recently named Alvin Hoover, CEO of King’s Daughters Medical Center in Brookhaven, Mississippi as this year’s chair-elect and Peter Hofstetter, CEO of Holy Cross Hospital in Taos, New Mexico as a new member. Both Hoover and Hofstetter are employed by QHR to lead managed client hospitals.

    “AHA’s Section for Small or Rural Hospitals represents the interests of many QHR client hospitals who need an advocate for their special needs – especially with government healthcare regulations undergoing so much change,” said QHR President and CEO James L.     Alvin will assume the role of chairman in 2013. Peter will serve a three-year term beginning January 1, 2012.


    The American Hospital Association’s (AHA) Section for Small or Rural Hospital 22-person governing council represents small or rural hospitals in policy process and member service initiatives. The AHA’s Section for Small or Rural Hospitals has over 1600 small or rural hospital members and includes hospitals with at least one of the following; 100 or fewer beds, 4000 or fewer admissions, or be located outside a Metropolitan Statistical Area.
