Aide: Obama still looks forward to Hollande visit

WASHINGTON (AP) — The White House says French President Francois Hollande's relationship woes are not affecting plans for his visit to the U.S. next month.

President Barack Obama is scheduled to host Hollande for a state visit — including a glitzy state dinner — on Feb. 11. White House spokesman Jay Carney says Obama is still looking forward to the visit.

Hollande announced over the weekend that he had split with girlfriend Valerie Trierweiler after a seven-year relationship. While the two never married, Trierweiler was considered France's first lady and had been expected to accompany Hollande to the White House next month.

The magazine Closer reported that Hollande was having an affair with a French actress. It's unclear whether Hollande will be bringing a guest with him to Washington.
