The Air Force Sexual Assault Prevention Chief Arrested for Sexual Assault Looks Like He Got Beat to a Pulp for It

The Air Force officer in charge of the Air Force's Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Office has been charged with sexual battery. Lt. Col. Jeffrey Krusinski was arrested on Sunday for allegedly grabbing a woman's breasts and butt in a parking lot in Arlington, Virginia. According to police, the woman fought Krusinski. Judging by the photo of his face, she beat him up.

The 41-year-old was drunk, police say. He was removed from the sexual assault prevention office, NBC News reports. Despite his role, Krusinski didn't have much of a presence on the office's website. There are lots of videos and press releases and tipsheets about what to do in case of a sexual assault, but his name is scarce. Krusinski does not appear in a "Striking Against Sexual Assault Bowling Event" video, for example. Last month, the Air Force observed Sexual Assault Awareness month.

Krusinski joined the Air Force in the early 1990s. He served in Iraq as deputy expeditionary mission support group commander at Joint Base Balad, starting in late 2009. Stars and Stripes' Jennifer Hlad reports that Krusinski is an Afghanistan war veteran, and he was commander of  the Sixth Force Support Squadron at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa. He was named Force Support Field Grade Officer of the Year in 2009.
