You oughta know … Alanis Morissette is pregnant!

The singer-songwriter is expecting her second child with husband Mario ‘Souleye’ Treadway, her rep confirms to PEOPLE.

Morissette, 41, announced the news on her website Friday, sharing an animated video and song that ends with the couple, along with 5-year-old son Ever Imre, gazing at ultrasound images of their new addition.

“The story of my nuclear family in moving pictures, brings us up to this sweet moment,” the musician captioned the video. “[The song was] written, recorded and produced in 6 hours on May 22, 2010 with Guy Sigsworth, on the sly, to surprise Souleye. Brendan Huza helped tell our story. May this song take on ever-deepening meaning as each year goes by.”

The mom-to-be has been open about her attachment parenting methods with her firstborn, including breastfeeding her baby boy until he was ready to wean.

“I think it affords the child, when he grows up, to have a lot less therapy to go to,” she explained in 2012. “For me, I protect his safety and his well-being and his attachment. That stage of development is a very important stage.”

Morissette, who has also shared her love of a family bed, expressed her views on extended breastfeeding in the 2015 documentary, The Milky Way.

“We live in a very funny society, a society that on one hand says that we’re just a sexual object … and then when this other sort of otherworldly, biological wind-in-the-hair goddess power comes out in the form of feeding our children in a very beautiful, animal way, that can actually be more intimidating,” she says in the film.

Morissette and Treadway, 35, a rapper, were married in 2010.
