Alaska Airlines pilots will vote on tentative agreement for new 5-year contract
SEATTLE (AP) -- Alaska Airlines and its pilots announced a tentative agreement for a new five-year contract on Thursday that will include pay raises and other changes.
The airline's 1,480 pilots are currently working under a 2009 contract that became eligible for changes on April 1.
Pilot leaders in the Air Line Pilots Association unit at the airline voted unanimously to recommend ratification. A vote is expected to be finished by mid-July.
The Seattle-based airline is a unit of Alaksa Air Group Inc. Shares rose 20 cents to $55.15 in morning trading.
