Alcatel's $150 Apple Watch Foe Ready For Preorder

Alcatel's $150 Apple Watch Foe Ready For Preorder

If the upcoming Apple Watch is out of your price range, a sexy iOS-ready alternative is available for pre-order today (March 31). For just $150, you can now reserve Alcatel's OneTouch Watch from the company's website.

We were impressed by the OneTouch Watch's bright, responsive 1.22-inch touch screen and colorful operating system when we saw the wearable at CES. Unlike the Apple Watch, which is only compatible with iPhone 5 and newer, the OneTouch device can pair with most modern iOS and Android devices (iPhone 4s and newer running iOS 7 or later with Bluetooth Low Energy, or Android 4.3 and later).

The Alcatel OneTouch Watch also carries a heart rate monitor on its underside, and supports NFC for convenient pairing. The onboard accelerometer, gyroscope and altimeter track data that you can monitor with the preloaded fitness app.

Like the Apple Watch, the OneTouch Watch runs dedicated apps for things such as weather and music, but has a rather limited selection. Alcatel told us it was working with developers to make more apps available for the platform.

Although it remains to be seen if Alcatel's offering will be enough to give Apple a run for its money, the OneTouch Watch offers a healthy set of features for a low price. Stay tuned for our full review.
