Alec Baldwin Inks Memoir Deal

Alec Baldwin has struck a deal to publish a memoir.

Harper, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers, has acquired world rights to the book, entitled “Nevertheless,” which is tentatively scheduled for publication in Fall 2016.

The “30 Rock” award-winning actor will write the book himself.

Alec Baldwin is a larger-than-life talent with an astonishing range,” HarperCollins publisher Jonathan Burnham said in a statement. “His life up to now has been far from dull.”

Baldwin’s book will chronicle the life and career of the outspoken and, at times, controversial actor.

“In this memoir, he writes about his family, lovers, friends and enemies, confronts his former demons, relives the highs and lows of his career, and opens up in an unflinchingly honest way about his life and times. This memoir will be funny, occasionally combative, often moving and an unbelievably good read,” said Burnham.

Beginning with his childhood in Long Island, the book will cover the Oscar nominee through his early years as a soap opera star, his passion for the theater and his uneven career as a Hollywood star. The publisher promises the memoir will touch upon Baldwin’s hits and flops, marriage, divorce, struggles with his addictions and personal growth, including his Emmy, SAG and Golden Globe Award-winning role on “30 Rock.”

No word on how much the actor will make for the book.

“Nevertheless” will be Baldwin’s second book, having already written “A Promise to Ourselves,” a dissection of how divorce is handled in the U.S. legal system, in 2008.
