All Hail Giambattista Valli’s Frothy Fairytale Frocks

Couture Fashion Week may not be about accessible ensembles or give us an idea of what we’ll be wearing next season, but it is about big and fabulous frocks. The bigger and more fabulous the better.

Of course, most of us will never have an occasion to wear such dresses as OTT as these ones (or pockets deep enough to afford them), but they’re the kind of gowns that we would love to dress up in and prance around the house in, bottle of prosecco in hand.

Which is why we were so enthralled by the sumptuous gowns that sashayed down the catwalk at Giambattista Valli’s spring couture show in Paris last night.

Each show-stopping frothy frock, crafted from miles of tulle, was more entrancing than the last and oozed romance and femininity.

We’re hoping the Oscar nominees are taking note, as wouldn’t it be wonderful to spot a Hollywood starlet in one of these designs?

Taking to the red carpet in one of these fairytale creations would definitely break the mould and move away from the racy, thigh-high slit dresses that we’ve become so accustomed to.
