Amazon isn’t always the cheapest option – here’s how to find the best prices

Amazon completely changed shopping as we know it. The company has single-handedly put countless brick and mortar rivals out of business by undercutting their prices and by offering almost anything consumers might need under one virtual roof. Add fast shipping and a smooth shopping experience into the mix, and you’ve got a recipe for success.

But even though low prices played a huge role in making Amazon the retail giant it is now, the company doesn’t always offer the lowest prices around — and now there’s a simple tool that tells you when that’s the case.

CNNMoney brings our attention to a new website called PriceJump, which is run by Savings.com and was launched earlier this week. The site couldn’t be simpler: Just paste the URL of any product on Amazon.com into the field front and center on the site, and PriceJump will tell you whether or not Amazon has the best prices on the web.

BGR tested the new site and is worked exactly as advertised. It also performs searches very quickly. And, as expected, it reported that Amazon indeed had the best prices for nearly everything we searched.
