Ameobi seals Turkish move
Nigeria striker Shola Ameobi has completed a move to Turkish second division side Gaziantep Buyuksehir Belediyespor on a one-year deal. The Super Eagles marksman left Premier League outfit Newcastle United after 19 years when his contract expired at the end of last season. His arrival was announced in a statement posted on the club's website, which read: "We want to establish an ambitious team in the league this season, and a strong team continues to strengthen by adding players. "We have therefore tied Nigerian striker Shola Ameobi, from one of the strongest teams in England, Newcastle United, to us for one year." Ameobi scored 53 goals in 312 appearances for Newcastle, and was part of the Nigeria squad that did duty at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
