American Eagle increasing quarterly dividend by 14 percent

PITTSBURGH (AP) -- American Eagle Outfitters Inc. on Thursday said that it is increasing its quarterly dividend by 14 percent.

The teen retailer said that its new dividend of 12.5 cents per share is payable on July 12 to shareholders of record as of July 1. That is up from its most recent dividend of 11 cents per share.

American Eagle, based in Pittsburgh, operates more than 1,000 stores in North America.

The company's shares jumped more than 2 percent to close regular trading Thursday at $19.76 and slipped a penny after hours.
