    American Idol Picks Phillip Phillips Single For Season 12 Goodbye Song

    Phillip Phillips has a tie in with the current season of "American Idol."

    The performer's song, "Gone, Gone, Gone," has been named the goodbye song for Season 12 of the FOX reality singing competition.

    The tune will play as the latest crop of contestants are eliminated each week on the show.

    Phillip, the Season 11 "Idol" champ, and Bon Jovi will perform on the "American Idol" results show on March 14, kicking off at 8 PM ET/PT on FOX.

    "Gone, Gone, Gone" is off Phillip's first album, "The World From The Side Of The Moon," from 19 Entertainment/Interscope Records. The album came out in November 2012.
