American Software fiscal 4Q earnings fall

ATLANTA (AP) -- Enterprise software provider American Software Inc. said Thursday that net income dropped as revenue declined in its fiscal fourth quarter through April.

Net income fell 12 percent to $3.1 million, or 11 cents per share, from $3.5 million, or 13 cents per share, a year earlier. Excluding share-based compensation costs and other items, adjusted earnings came to 12 cents per share.

Revenue declined 10 percent to $25.2 million.

Shares closed down 11 cents at $8.31.
