    Another Balboa Press Author Gets Hay House Contract

    The interest in Bronnie Ware’s “The Top Five Regrets of the Dying” was closely observed by Hay House and prompted an International Publishing Contract

    Balboa Press, a division of Hay House Inc., and leading self-publisher of personal empowerment books, today announced that author Bronnie Ware’s powerful memoir, “The Top Five Regrets of the Dying—A Life Transformed by the Dearly Departing,” has been acquired for publishing by Hay House, Inc.

    Ware, an Australian author, spent a number of years working in palliative care. Her work required she tend to the needs of terminal patients, often in the last three to twelve weeks of their lives. “I found each patient experienced a variety of emotions, as expected. These included: denial, fear, anger, remorse, more denial and eventually acceptance. Every single patient found their peace before they departed, though—every one of them,” said Ware.

    Feeling compelled to document her experiences, she wrote an article about the most common regrets expressed to her by the people she had cared for, titled “The Top Five Regrets of the Dying.” The article received considerable attention, and at the behest of readers, Ware decided to write a personal memoir of the same title. After self-publishing through Balboa Press, Ware’s book started to gain popularity, fueled mainly by international interest from media including “The Guardian” and “The Huffington Post.” Balboa’s publishing partner, Hay House, Inc. was very excited.

    This amazing story doesn’t stop there. When Leon Nacson, managing director of Hay House Australia contacted Bronnie to offer her a publishing contract, she burst into tears of joy. She informed Leon that she had just left the labor ward, where she had given birth to a baby girl. Bronnie had prayed for two things earlier that day: the first asking that the birth go well and that her baby be healthy, and the second that she would be noticed by Hay House and offered a publishing contract. “This is a true example of manifestation, and we are so pleased to welcome Bronnie into the Hay House family,” said Leon.
