Another report confirms next-gen iPad mini will be a pain to find

Just because Apple is reportedly unveiling its next-generation iPad mini on Tuesday doesn’t mean we should expect to see it readily available everywhere this year. AppleInsider flags a new research note from Cowen and Company analyst Timothy Arcuri, who confirms other reports we’ve heard about Apple facing serious production problems with the Retina-equipped iPad mini. In fact, Arcuri says that issues are so bad that he doesn’t expect Apple will be able to meet demand for the device until early 2014 at the earliest. Arcuri doesn’t think that Apple will face the same production issues with its fifth-generation iPad, however, and projects that strong demand for the larger model will help Apple sell an estimated 23 million iPads over the holiday quarter. We’ll know a lot more about both tablets on Tuesday when Apple shows them off at its big iPad press event.
