PHILIPSBURG, Pa. (AP) — Pennsylvania State Police say the gunman in a supermarket shooting is a retired state trooper, and the woman he shot before killing himself was his wife.
State police spokeswoman Maria Finn said Thursday that troopers were working to notify their closest relatives, holding up public identification of the two.
A woman who said she spoke with witnesses from inside the store told reporters she believes the victim is her sister, who had a restraining order against her husband.
The shooting occurred Thursday morning at County Market in Philipsburg, about 25 miles northwest of State College.
