New app wants to make it so you never have to deal with customer service – and it’s free

Can you imagine a world where you never have to deal with customer service again? Can you imagine what you would do with all of the time that would be freed up by not having to sit on hold and speak with 12 different representatives? How much would you pay for a service that might make that possible? Whatever that number is, forget it because a new app will try to make this dream a reality for free.

I recently wrote about an horrific experience I had with AT&T customer service. I’m not sure if a new iPhone app called Service would have helped, but I certainly plan to find out the next time I need to call a company.

Here’s the app’s full description from the app’s page in iOS App Store:

Service helps when something goes wrong between you and a business – for FREE. Instead of waiting on hold or searching for the right contact form, tell us what happened – takes less than a minute – and then sit back and relax while we Make It Right.

• Delayed or canceled flight?
• Defective product?
• Over charged?
• Late delivery?
• Insurance issues?
• Banking problems?
• Any issue where you feel let down by a business.

Never wait on hold again – Service It!

For free? How is this possible? Well, don’t get too excited because it won’t last forever: “We’re a new company building a name for ourselves,” Service says on its website. “At this time our services are completely free for consumers and businesses.”

The site continues, “We do like food and shelter and eventually will begin monetizing. For now, enjoy our high quality, easy-to-use service – and save yourself time and money.”

If Service can truly deliver on its promise, however, it could absolutely become an app worth paying for.
