AppCleaner for Mac review

AppCleaner for Mac helps you quickly get rid of unwanted software and all associated files quickly, so you can keep things running smoothly. Since just moving apps to the Trash can leave a lot of extra files behind, it's nice to have software like this to ensure you clear out everything at once.

Pros

Fast and efficient: The interface is just a small window that you can drag and drop unwanted apps into. When you do that, the software locates any associated files and lists them as well, so you can delete them all at once. There are also tabs across the top of the window for Widgets and Others, and you can look through these to see if there's anything extra you need to remove. Everything you choose to delete is moved to the Trash, so you can review it before deleting it entirely.

Preferences: Under the Preferences menu, you can add any apps you want to protect from deletion, and you can also turn the Smart Delete feature on and off. Smart Delete detects when an app has been trashed and offers to remove any files associated with that software. This is an especially handy feature for inexperienced users.

Cons

No Help: While there is a Help link listed in the drop-down menu, it doesn't actually exist. The app is quite straightforward, so most users will have no trouble finding their way around, but it would be nice to have some sort of reference.

Bottom Line

AppCleaner for Mac works well to help you rid your computer of all unwanted apps and associated files. Its streamlined process makes it accessible to users of all experience levels, which minimizes the problems created by the lack of a Help reference.
