Apple needs to set an example and come back home to the USA

The real hypocrites are the people who have a problem with Apple's policies but continue to demand and use their products and who would complain if the price were higher.

American company are you? Then bring the jobs home Apple!!!

This is not exactly new news. Apple has been successful in ignoring the problem for a long time.

I read somewhere that if Apple manufactured the Ipod/Iphone in the US it would only cost an extra $60.00 per device. Wouldn't the extra $60.00 be worth it if jobs were returned home?

It's sad, all the American hypocrites who complain about all the jobs going to China and yet they flock to apple to buy their products. We deserve just what we get.

378 million dollar bonus for some idiot CEO equals 7560 workers at 50 thousand dollars a year. AND all you idiots that cherish apple think they are such a great company. Profits from major corporations are leaving this county broke. The middle class working people are going on welfare. We are all screwed, and as long as you need your iphone, you will remain part of the problem in america.

just where do you think most Windows-based PCs are made? or the parts that go into them... this isn't just an Apple problem, it's a corporate GREED problem...

the iphone would cost an average of 100 dollars more if it were made in the U.S. but if it had a made in the USA sticker or stamp on it i would buy it!

Bring mfg back to US, Tim Cook doesn't need a $378 million bonus, invest in American workers. He is just giving lip service to the labor abuses in China. If Apple is so revolutionary, they can figure out how to mfg in US and still make a healthy profit. This is the message that Occupy Wallstreet needs to send to Apple. Protest at Apple. That will get their attention.

The main issue for me is that Apple and other manufacturers who export jobs to countries that have no worker protections and no environmental protections at all, is that they make us complicit in their crimes against humanity because it's impossible to buy a cell phone, a TV or any clothing at all that is not made by virtual slaves in these countries.

They should manufacture their products here in the US but they won't because they can exploit their workers there. Now, I know why I won't buy Apple products.

Statistics show that if these devices were built here they would cosy 23% more to the U.S. consumer. I personally have no problem spending that much more to have the jobs here in the U.S. This simply shows that Apple is more interested in their profit margin that what is good for Americans and Chinese workers. This is a dirty secret that needs to get more attention from the media.

If they cared, this plant would be in the United States. But instead they pay pennies on the dollar to manufacture this computers and sell them at ridiculous prices. I've used their computers and while I love the O.S, it's not worth what they charge, especially considering how the workers are treated.

Boycotts worked in the 60's & 70's...why not now???

Last year there were more than 1 billion cell phone manufactured throughout the world. Not 1 was made in the USA.

Apple knows Chinese labor is slave labor with unsafe working conditions. If they truly cared, they would build a dedicated production facility and insist all US production standards are followed, while still paying the going Chinese rate.
