Apple Watch bands can be easily damaged like any other watch bands, but don’t freak out about it

Apple’s Watch is, at the end of the day, a product that will suffer damages including standard wear and tear. So don’t expect it to be any differently than regular watches from that point of view — and that goes double for the watch’s bands, including the Sport fluoroelastomer and Leather bands, according to pictures posted by 9to5Mac.

Over time, the great looking Apple Watch bands will have the same wear marks as any other regular watch band. The more you’ll wear it, the more marks these particular type of bands will receive. And that’s not a bad thing.

You can expect Sport and Leather bands to show bend marks as well as discoloration over time caused by sweat and hand lotions. Furthermore, metal bands might get scratches and dings following regular use.

So don’t freak out when Apple won’t replace your worn bands with shiny new ones. I’m already more than aware the white Sport band I have on my Apple Watch will get such marks. But the company will sell you a wide selection of accessories and third-party accessory makers will soon launch Apple-certified bands as well, according to some existing reports.
