Apple Watch will ship in April: CEO Tim Cook
Apple will begin shipping the Apple Watch sometime in April, the company's CEO Tim Cook said in an earnings conference call on Tuesday. Cook had originally said that the smartwatch would ship in the early part of this year, but some analysts said that an April timeline was not as soon as Apple had anticipated. Cook, though, said an April launch is in line with what the company had expected. "It's basically when we thought. We have a lot of customers who are wanting to get one," Cook said during the call.
"My expectations are very high on it, I'm using it every day and I can't live without it." Cook also said that developers creating apps for the device are coming up with interesting new uses for the smartwatch.
"The number of developers that are writing apps for it are impressive, and we seeing incredible innovation," Cook said.
Apple reported monstrous earnings on Tuesday, beating the street's estimates by a long shot. The company sold a whopping 74.4 million iPhones, a 46 percent increase from the same quarter last year. Read more about the company's blow out quarter here.
