Arizona man pleads not guilty in killing of boy

PHOENIX (AP) — A 27-year-old Arizona man has pleaded not guilty in the fatal stabbing of his 12-year-old half-brother.

Andrew Ward was arrested March 12 after calling 911 from a convenience store near his family's home. That's where police found Austin Tapia with multiple stab wounds.

Police say when asked why he killed the boy, Ward said, "Honestly, I just felt like killing."

A Maricopa County Superior Court spokesman says Ward entered his plea Thursday.

Ward is charged with first-degree murder, child abuse and aggravated assault.
