About Ashlawn Energy and the Painesville Vanadium Redox Flow Battery Project:
In November 2009, the City of Painesville was awarded an Energy Storage Demonstration grant by the Department of Energy for the vanadium redox flow battery energy storage project. The grant, administered by National Energy Technology Laboratory, is one of sixteen storage projects under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) that support power grid modernization throughout the United States.
Ashlawn Energy provides energy storage solutions with its VanCharg™ battery system that represents transformational technology needed to improve reliability on the US power grid. Ashlawn Energy is currently designing and manufacturing a one MW / eight MWh flow battery that will be installed alongside the Painesville Municipal Power Plant. Ashlawn is proud to develop and manufacture its systems in the United States of America, with the support of a US Department of Energy award and a network of national laboratories.
