Auslogics Duplicate File Finder review
Auslogics Duplicate File Finder identifies duplicate images, media files, archives, and even programs and lets you choose which to delete and which to keep. A wizard-like process walks you through each step, which not only makes Duplicate File Finder easy to use but also helps reduce errors.
Pros
Rescue Center: The modular Rescue Center can restore files from backups or system restore points, and not just for Duplicate File Finder but other Auslogics software, too.
Programs: Duplicate File Finder can identify program files, including executables, and remove unneeded ones.
Exceptions: We could configure Duplicate File Finder to ignore files over or under a certain size and add files to an ignore list.
Cons
Ads on the toolbar: The toolbar's Advanced menu links to other software, as does the Check System Health button.
Groups: The software groups duplicates together for easy mass deletion, but it can be difficult to know which group to keep and which to purge.
Bottom Line
Easy-to-use Duplicate File Finder did a good job of distinguishing actual duplicate files from close matches and false positives. While it's a bit ad-heavy compared to some similar freeware, Auslogics Duplicate File Finder does its job well.
